What is sick leave?

Sick leave is where you have had to take leave because of illness. Depending on company policy, you might be able to apply for this yourself (Applying for sick leave) or an administrator will assign a sick leave form for you to fill out.

In the UK, if you take more than 7 days off in a row you need to provide a doctor’s note. You may also be asked to fill in a form upon returning to work.

Long term sickness has its own unique rules.

Please see https://www.gov.uk/taking-sick-leave for more information regarding sick leave.

LunaHR counts sick leave. HR can see how many sick leave days are taken and you can also track this figure yourself.
